In 2018, the Municipality of Pully allocated a budget to renovate and bring up to standard the foyer of the Théâtre de L'Octogone. The architectural firm winthrop+locher+partners, headed by Pierre Winthrop, was commissioned to carry out the work. The new foyer was inaugurated in September 2019, marking the launch of the Théâtre's 40th season.
The foyer adopts a bistro-chic ambience with dark tones, evoking jazz and the arts. The large open spaces are enhanced by a majestic horizontal slatted ceiling, while the use of raw wood lends character to this space steeped in history. The bar, fire-retardant safety doors and wooden fixtures and fittings are the key elements of this design. The counter is the central element of the bistro ambience. It welcomes customers, regulars and those who stop in just for a coffee. This centerpiece, equipped with a large custom-made metal top, was installed by our installation teams, who didn't neglect the details. It's often in the purest of styles that the mastery of the cabinetmaker's craft shows through in the meticulous details of the finishes.
